Frequently Asked Questions
What is an Australian Labradoodle?
An Australian Labradoodle is a cross between three breeds, Labrador Retriever, Purebred Poodle, and Cocker Spaniel (English or American) and were bred together to create purebred Australian Labradoodles. These three breeds help improve size, coat, health, and temperament. This breed was also bred for therapy/service work and companionship. The breed was first developed in Australia in the 1970's, despite the name this breed does not have any Australian Shepard in them. So if somebody asks my quick awnser is that they are multigenerational Labradoodles that originated in Australia.
How do you raise your puppies? We raise our puppies with the Puppy Culture program. This process starts at 3 days old with Early Neurological Stimulation and the program continues for the entire 8 weeks the puppies are with us. Puppy Culture includes crate training, clicker training, beginnings of housebreaking, noise and touch desensitization, and many other confidence builders. Our puppies start going potty outside at least 3 times a day once they start eating solid foods. By 8 weeks old puppies are going outside and are napping in their own crates. We rarely have potty accidents when kept on a strict schedule. Puppies know that outside = potty. We start teaching "sit" for attention and introducing them to the "lay down" concept by the time puppies are 8 weeks. Our goal is to send you home with a well-rounded, happy, and confident puppy.
How much are your puppies?
Our puppies are $3,000 (total) on a strict spay/neuter agreement. Our reservation fee is a non-refundable $500 which will hold you a spot on a litter of your choice. Since we don’t know exactly how many puppies will be born every litter, we accept 5-6 reservations on each litter before they are born. Reservation lists fill fast and available spaces cannot be reserved until the fee has been received by us, since we receive so many inquiries, we cannot hold spaces without a reservation.
How does your selection process work?
We schedule an appointment for you to choose your puppy on picking day, which is when puppies turn six weeks old. You can either FaceTime us or you can visit us in person. Picking your puppy goes in order of received deposits. Once puppies are 6 weeks old you will have a better idea of the puppy's coat type and predicted adult size will be. Once you have selected your puppy your new puppy will go home at 8 weeks old
What size Australian Labradoodles do you offer?
We specialize in breeding small medium Australian labradoodles that weigh around 25-35lbs at maturity. We will occasionally have smaller puppies around 18-22lbs, depending on the pairing.
What is the difference between being on a reservation list vs a waiting list?
A reservation list ($500 fee) is basically a guaranteed spot on that specific future litter. We accept only 5-6 families per litter prior to them being born. Once the puppies are born, they will go to the families who are on the reservation list.
A waiting list is if you really want to be on a specific litter and that litter is fully reserved. You can place a $500 deposit and we will add you to our waiting list for the litter you would like to be on. Once puppies are born and we end up with more puppies than the 5-6 puppies we took reservations for, we will move you to their reservation list so there is a good chance of getting a puppy from that litter. Since sometimes our girls tend to have larger litters (average is 7-10) we have waitlists.
How can I get my puppy if I live in another state?
We can also hand deliver our puppies right to you. Which means, if you require shipping, we will book a flight to fly your puppy to your nearest airport with a nanny. A nanny service is someone that we know and trust to fly with the puppy, so that way we know the puppy will arrive to his/her forever family safe and sound. Or you can fly to California and take your puppy home in a cabin with you. Shipping fee is a minimum of $500. If you are local, you may also come drive and pick up your new puppy here also.
Do you have adult Australian Labradoodles available?
We rarely have adult Australian labradoodles available because most of our breeding dogs live in guardian homes which care for them as puppies to adults and once they retire, they will live happily with their guardian families.
What happens if you don't have enough puppies for your reservation list? Unfortunately, this does happen on occasion and it's something we cannot really control. We are more than happy to transfer your deposit to the next available litter or you can stay on the same litter and just wait until she has puppies again.
